  Biographical Information:

     Howard M. Weinstein, Esq. received his Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers School of Law - Camden in 1987.  While in law school he was appointed Associate Editor of the Rutgers Law Journal, received recognition for attaining the Dean's List and was the recipient of the 1986 American Jurisprudence Award for Trial Advocacy.  Bar admissions include the States of New Jersey and New York and the Federal District Courts for the District of New Jersey and the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.

     As an attorney specializing in the area of criminal law, Mr. Weinstein has extensive experience in both the Superior and Municipal Courts of New Jersey.  In addition to his experience as a private defense attorney, Mr. Weinstein has been a pool attorney for the Office of the Public Defender in Essex County since 1993, was appointed as the Public Defender of the Millburn Municipal Court in 1997 and has acted as Municipal Prosecutor and Public Defender for both the Millburn Municipal Court and the Livingston Municipal Court since 1994.

     With his Millburn, NJ office being located just five minutes from the famed Mall at Short Hills, which is within the jurisdiction of the Millburn Municipal Court, Mr. Weinstein has become an expert in successfully representing individuals charged in connection with shoplifting and other offenses which regularly occur at the prestigious and busy mall.

     Mr. Weinstein was formerly associated with the New York City law firm of Cahill Gordon & Reindel.  At Cahill Gordon he represented clients such as Drexel Burnham Lambert, the National Broadcasting Company, Dillon Read & Co. and Bankers Trust in a variety of matters including secured lending transactions, public offerings and private placements of equity and debt securities, and mergers and acquisitions.

     From 1990 through 1992, Mr. Weinstein was associated with Hahn & Hessen, a mid-sized Manhattan law firm.  While at Hahn & Hessen, he represented clients in corporate mergers and acquisitions, secured lending transactions, represented both debtors and creditors in work-outs and reorganizations and represented business entities in a variety of commercial disputes and litigation matters.
